ADMINISTRATION NOTICE

COVID-19

Announced March 16, 2020

Dear Circle K Adventurers,

 

In light of the recent closure of Cal State Channel Islands due to safety precautions in regards to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), it is important that our membership remains safe and healthy. Therefore, plans of hosting events, participating in events and fundraisers, as well as elections will be either cancelled or postponed for a future tentative date. Please understand that we, the Board of Officers, respect the concern, advice, and information from our advisors, members, university, and the CNH District.

Currently we are monitoring the ever evolving conditions of COVID-19 along with the university, the CNH District, Circle K International, and the CDC. Though there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 in or around the CSUCI community, per the university, we will consider our options and assess the situations to still embody the three tenants that we all live by: service, leadership, and fellowship.

 

The Board of Officers have reported the following updates concerning the club:

CNH District Convention

  • Cancelled due to safety concerns and recent developments of COVID-19

        **Any potential refunds will be determined through CNH District negotiations with the Riverside Marriott and Riverside Convention Center**


Events & Fundraisers

  • Cancelled per the university

  • Any type of social gatherings has been suspended especially those in confined areas


Officer Elections
Following club bylaws, the Board of Officers have concluded the following:

  • Nomination speech submission will be conducted via Google Forms and will be open from March 16th to March 20th

  • Speeches will be reviewed and released for the general public between March 23rd to April 3rd

  • Voting will take place between March 30th and ending on April 3rd

While we continue to monitor the situation, the Board of Officers requests that you remain vigilant through the situation and to take all the precautionary measures to stay safe and healthy.
